Situated at close to 1000 metres above sea level, Stanthorpe is one of the most elevated growing regions in Australia and is nationally recognised for its wineries and variety of fresh produce. But that is not all; there are now new breweries and cideries and boutique deli’s sharing the best of the local fare for you to try.

Rich fertile soil fused with four very distinct seasons and a climate that can be the coldest in Queensland means that there is an abundance of fresh produce and fine local wine to try – no matter your taste.

For the grape lovers there are 50 individual wineries to visit and taste that produce over 60% of Queensland wine. Dotted throughout the Granite Belt you will be able to take some pit stops between sips, trying local cheese, chocolate, and other fare at one of our boutique deli’s or direct from the maker.

You can either do a drive-yourself-tour of town handpicking the locations you want to sample or book a local tour that will shuttle you and your tastebuds to each new destination and then drop you home at the end. Most important of all, no matter which option you choose you will be welcomed with open arms, often by the wine makers themselves.
